I've worked in the Broadcast business for nearly 4 years before moving into a new career focused on design and social media.
I am fluent in Canva, Wix along with popular newsroom resources such as Edius and iNews.
In 2015 I won the MPA Foundation Scholarship.
My article, "Professors struggle as a result of heavy course cuts" took 3rd in Best of the Midwest News Stories.
Avid Media Composer
TEC Group, Inc.
2020 - present
I grew my marketing & design talents at TEC Group, Inc. I was the go-to for new marketing material such as new business card designs, marketing material, and presentation for the sales team.
Evening News Producer
2018 - 2020
I was able to push myself harder at NBC25/FOX66. I was faced with a lack of editors among other newsroom staff, therefore I was one of the only producers who were self-motivated. I was able to stack, write, and edit my shows which ranged from a half-hour to an hour. I would multitask by writing web articles and posting to social media while helping reporters with stories or setting up stories.
TV6 & FOX UP
Morning News Producer
2015 - 2017
I started my professional broadcast career in Marquette. I was the Morning News Producer for TV6 News. I learned how to edit on Edius and stack shows in ENPS. After I would stack and edit I would run the station's social media platforms, contact law enforcement for updates, report on breaking news and send reporters to breaking scenes. There were times where I would have to take a camera out and shoot VOSOTS and conduct interviews.
Northern Michigan University
2013 - 2017
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Multimedia Journalism at NMU. This is where I discovered my love for television; I anchored a 15 minute, live newscast every week from 2014-2017. My original goal was to become on-air talent. While I still have that dream, I found myself producing and staying behind the scenes and getting involved in politics.
I do have a goal of going back to school and gaining my Master's Degree.
